Joy I. Brumett, 79, of Uniontown, Indiana passed away at 1:00 AM on Friday, February 19, 2010 at her son and daughter-in-laws home.

Born September 17, 1930 she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Eunice (Mosley) Scifres.

On May 15, 1946 she married Hubert Brumett in Uniontown at the home of Walter Mosley.

Mrs. Brumett owned and operated the former Brumett’s Grocery store. She also worked at the Hoosier National Forest, and Wal-Mart in Seymour.

Other survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law-,Ed and Brenda Brumett of Uniontown, daughter in law, Marion Brumett of Uniontown, Indiana, two sisters, Frances Colwell of Dayton, Ohio, Rita Jean (Barton) Riley of Uniontown, Indiana, eleven grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.

A son Dale Brumett and a brother Harold Scifres preceded her in death.

Adams Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
