Born July 14, 1924 in Happy, Kentucky he was the son of the late Walter Fields and Chloe (Fugate) Fields Allen. Roger loved to hunt and fish. He worked for Arvin's for 25 years, was employed at Morgan's packing company, then retired from Cummins Engine Company. On June 7, 1952 in Scottsburg, Indiana he married Marjorie (Avery) Fields who preceded him in death on July 16, 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Robison of Deputy, Indiana, Jeannie (Ron) Atkins of Austin, Indiana, four grandchildren, Josh Spicer, Zach Spicer both of Austin, Indiana, Randy (Sherry) Robison of Henryville, Indiana, Christy (Todd) Carter of Scottsburg, Indiana, three great grandchildren, One brother, E.C. Fields of Austin, Indiana, One sister, Marie Miller of Franklin, Indiana, a caregiver, Donna Neace of Austin, Indiana. A sister Thelma Perry also preceded him in death. Pastor Bobby Spicer will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville.
