She worked as a beautician at Doc’s Beauty Shop in Scottsburg until she was married and then stayed home and was a homemaker. Norma was a 1948 Scottsburg High School Graduate, a member of First Baptist Church of Crothersville and was an avid quilter and enjoyed embroidering and reading. Born March 24, 1929 in Scott County, IN, she was the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Carnine) Meek. On December 15, 1961 in Scott County she married Joseph “Joe” Henderson who preceded her in death on January 22, 1984. Survivors are two daughters, Holly (Brian) Sweany of Crothersville, IN; Beth Herald of Jasper, IN; two brothers Russell (Jeannette) Meek of Crothersville, IN; Bernard (Francie) Meek of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Paul Sweany of Crothersville, IN; Joseph James “Joey” Herald of Jasper, IN. A brother, Phillip Meek and a sister Naomi Hall, preceded her in death. Reverend David Schill will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville, IN; burial will follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Adams Funeral Home, and after 9:30 AM on Saturday at Adams Funeral Home. Norma Jean Henderson, 78, of Crothersville, passed away at 12:48 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.
